Barefoot Walking: Benefits of Grounding Yourself

February 8, 2018 By disha prakash Leave a Comment

Grounding- Walking barefoot on earth

The rapid pace of life, no time for self, sitting in technology packed rooms, has left us entirely off the ground.

Now, what does that mean? This simply means a lack of connection with the nurturing and soul healing abilities of our mother earth.

The same mother which created us also has the power to heal us. Why at our childhood our infancy was mud and its associated elements?

Why we fstill feel drawn to muddy smell during the rainy season? Do you see some connection?

If yes, then congrats as you are coming back home.

A simple definition of earthling or grounding is to walk barefooted on earth- along with dirt, sand, grass, impurities etc. Remaining close to earth and its associated elements are our natural state. It is our lack of awareness which propels us to embrace sophisticated hygienic practices.

Earthling provides us a subtle energy (negative charge of electrons) also regarded as Vitamin G. Although intangible it is as necessary as our need of the sun, water, or air.

Grounding not only provides us with the tremendous benefits of the negative charge contained therein, remaining close to the elements of earth also boosts our immunity by developing an immunological memory against common allergens.

Can science deny its powers?

German physicist Professor W.O. Schumann in 1952 explained the origin of earth pulse.

He explained that as the negatively charged earth is contained within the positively charges ionosphere an electrical tension between the two imparts it a certain frequency.

Now, increasing number of researchers have realized the connection of the earth frequency to the life forms existing on it.

Since all the living forms evolved on earth, how can we deny our need for a connection to this source?

Using our limited minds we remain oblivious to the fact that even if science reaches its pinnacle, it is now  eventually coming to terms with the spiritual nature of evolution  which earlier were only a mere scepticism for it.

One such wonder is the earthling or grounding known to cure various health concerns

Benefits of barefoot walking for health

Earth carries the negative charge that serves as a supreme source of antioxidants.  Perhaps, we derive the same from the vegetable and fruits. Even medicines and healing treatments today make use of these supplies. So why not take these antioxidants directly present in surplus amounts with our mother earth.

Also, this negative charge destroys the aging-related free radicals.

Free radicals are constantly produced in our body on exposure to harmful electromagnetic radiation from towers, Wi-Fi, appliances, cigarette, smoke, etc.

Some other benefits of walking barefoot  are

  • Reduction in inflammation
  • Healthy sleep
  • Changed electrical activity inside brain to provide stress relief
  • Improves eyesight
  • Improves body posture
  • Allows being in the moment
  • Boosts immunity
  • Reduces blood viscosity-a prime cause of heart diseases
  • Prevents diabetes
  • Regulates body weight
  • Protection against EMF’s
  • Helps in chronic pain
  • Reduces blood urea concentrations

Further, a study on the healing effects of grounding also postulated that by doing regular grounding exercises, a balance in the rhythm of stress hormone cortisol is obtained.

A balance in this rhythm helps us to combat a variety of diseases which breeds with the onset of the disturbed cortisol levels.

How to go about doing it?

Our ancestors were well aware of the inherent advantages grounding have had on our health. Therefore using conductive leather soled shoes was a trivial practice.

So, what materials insulate your foot from the grounding effects? Rubber, plastic, painted concrete, wood, asphalt, tar, carpets, etc.

Depending on your preferences you can choose either one or both of the following methods

  1. Walk barefoot on mud, sand, dirt or unpainted concrete outside the home.  Or
  2. You can derive the benefits of walking barefoot outside in your home itself with the help of  conductive systems.

Such systems can be used while working, sleeping,  or performing any other activity. These systems come as mats, sheets, hand bands and pillows.

Hope, you have a nice barefooted journey.
